Osian is a small town right out of an Indian folklore in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Located in the heart of the Thar, it is fondly called the Khajuraho of Rajasthan given the number of temples in the town. Here, one can find Brahmi and Jain temples that date back to the 8 and 11 centuries.
In July 2016, Veerayatan’s school in Osian will be ready for use. It comprises 5 class rooms, two separate halls (that may be partitioned and converted into classrooms), a principal’s office, staff room, store room, library, and hygiene facilities. A hilly pocket at the back of this land will be converted into a play area.
Buses will be available for transporting children from the area to the school. The school may offer primary education, to begin with, but higher classes will be considered if enough pupils are admitted. The fee structure will be highly competitive, keeping in mind the geography.
We sincerely thank B L Soni for his donation towards Veerayatan’s efforts in Osian.
