Veerayatan Vidyapeeth, Rudrani is a unique institute for the empowerment of hundreds of those children for whom education was an unattainable dream.
It is a primary education center which provides free education for the children of families migrating from the border areas of Kutch after the 2001 earthquake.
A majority of these children are the first in their families to earn a formal education. This has instilled confidence and enthusiasm in them & their parents are also thrilled to see their children going to school for the first time in generations.
Keeping other social, economical, geographical constraints intoconsideration, Veerayatan provides free uniform, books, stationery, transport, nutritious breakfast and mid-day meal to all the students without any cast, creed, or gender discrimination, so that not even a single child remains uneducated.
Since its inception, there has been a remarkable increase in the number of girls enrolment in the school. Sadhviji’s continuous dialogues with local people regarding the importance of female literacy have made them understand to send their daughters to school.
At present, the strength of the school is more than 500 students and the plan is to make a difference in the lives of a thousand students.
“Veerayatan Centre in Rudrani, Kutch is one of my favorites. It brings me great joy. The innocence of the people, the beautiful children and the lust plantations are like an oasis in the middle of a desert. This is a very special place and I hope I will be able to spend all my time here one day.” – Acharya Shri Chandanaji.
