Sanchore

Sanchore lies about 300 kms from Osian in Jalore, Rajasthan. One with ties to the Great Harappan Civilization, its first inhabitants reportedly arrived more than 6000 years ago. It is also acknowledged that during his time, Lord Mahavir passed this village; it is thus a Tirth Sthaal for Jain believers.

With a history of 130 thriving Jain temples, each more beautiful than the other, there are now nine Jina temples left in Sanchore. It remains rich in unity, history, and culture with influences from the Islamic rulers than reigned in the 1300s.
