The ‘Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs’, ‘The American Jewish Committee’ and ‘World Council of Religion Leaders’ organised a 5-day ‘Israel Asia Faith Leaders’ Summit where Pujya Acharya Shri Chandanaji and Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji participated as the representatives of Jain Religion from India. Various renowned religious leaders and scholars from Japan, Taiwan, Canada, China, Korea, Myanmar, Sri Lanka etc. gathered on a common platform for an open discussion, sharing experiences and opinions to lead the world towards peace, compassion and love. While delivering her speech on the subject ‘Religion and Responsibility’, Acharya Shriji clearly expressed that it is impossible to bring harmony in the world unless there is religious tolerance amongst the leaders. It is a major responsibility of all the guiding forces that their thoughts and actions are in sync.

In the conference organized at Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace, Hebrew University, Pujya Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji delivered an impressive speech on ‘The Ecology and Environment of Planet Earth in an Industrial Age’. She mentioned that all the centres of Veerayatan are eco-friendly and for the past many years these centres have been actively contributing in conserving nature’s resources through solar energy, water conservation, rain water harvesting, waste water treatment facilities and planting trees.
Veerayatan’s selfless philanthropic work without the discretion of cast, creed, color or religion was also highly appreciated by the delegation especially the Muslim religious leaders.
Deeply touched by the extraordinary hospitality of Israel government, Acharya Shriji thanked Prime Minister Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu and President Mr. Reuven Rivlin in taking this initiative for the noble cause. Acharya Shriji now aims to organize a Jain-Jewish Summit in India in the near future.
So watch this space and take time off – we want everyone to participate in this next Summit!
