Lachhuar

Lachhuar, being the birthplace of Bhagwan Mahavir, was at one point engulfed in the wrath of Naxalism such that people were robbed, harassed and killed.  Pujya Tai Ma believed that positivity will prevail even at such places and now her vision has transformed Lachhuar into a safe haven. With the support of Jaina-USA, Veerayatan created in 2002 a beautiful school called “Tirthankar Mahavir Vidya Mandir”.

The aim of the school is to empower the local communities by providing jobs and gifting them the best education for their children, where along with formal academic studies, human values are imbibed. Due to this opportunity, the children are making an indelible change in their life.

Remarkably the parents who themselves were Naxalites came and bowed down to Pujya Tai Ma, thanking her for this miraculous change. The parents said, ‘we are now living a happy, peaceful and prosperous life with the belief that our children will never follow our horrendous footsteps!’
