Rudrani

Veerayatan Vidyapeeth Rudrani, inaugurated in 2004, is a unique school for the empowerment of thousands of children for whom education was an unattainable dream.

It is a primary education school which provides totally free education for the children. This education is complemented by a moral and ethical outlook with respect for all, including the environment.

Considering the social, economic and geographical constraints, Veerayatan also provides free uniforms, books, stationery, transport, nutritious breakfast and a mid-day meal to all students without any discrimination, so that not even a single child remains uneducated.

Due to these wonderful facilities and good education standards, this school has become a focal point and a place of hope for the entire local community.

Highlights:

  • A majority of these children are the first in their families to benefit from a formal education. This has instilled confidence and enthusiasm in them, and their parents are also thrilled to see their children going to school for the first time in generations.
  • Since its inception, there has been a remarkable increase in the number of girls enrolling in the school. Sadhviji’s continuous dialogue with the local people regarding the importance of female literacy has encouraged them to send their daughters to school, thus breaking the shackles of child marriages.

“Veerayatan Centre in Rudrani, Kutch is one of my favourites. It brings me great joy. The innocence of the people, the beautiful children and the lush plantations are like an oasis in the middle of a desert. This is a very special place and I hope I will be able to spend all my time here one day.” (Pujya Tai Ma)
