Osian

Osian

Osian is an ancient town located in the Jodhpur District in the state of Rajasthan in Western India.  This ancient city is an important Jain pilgrimage site and is famous for its architectural temples that date back to medieval times.

Veerayatan, with the blessings of Pujya Tai Ma, opened Tirthankar Mahavir Vidya Mandir, in 2017 as part of its stated vision, ‘Jaha Jinalay, Vaha Vidyalaya’ (‘where there is a temple, there needs to be a school’). With the generous donation of the school premises by Shri B. L. Soni, the Rajasthan board affiliated English medium school runs from KG to Standard 8 with higher classes being added each year.

The generosity of donors, efforts of every staff member and with constant support from committee members, the school continues to thrive, striving for nothing but the best, being child centric and providing the best education.

Highlights:

  • The school provides excellent education to underprivileged children in and around Osian.
  • The school has a library, computer room, one smart e-classroom and a recreational room for indoor games including playing with educational toys which aids the growth of the children.
  • To improve access to the school, Veerayatan has organised school buses to transport children. This is very important as some children have to travel up to 25km one way to come to school each day!
  • Girls are encouraged to attend and efforts are taking place to discourage child marriages.
