Shatavdhan – The incredible power of concentration!

Jay Jain, a devotee of Pujya Tai Ma, has special power to remember 200 items sequentially, whether these are questions, objects or statements. Pujya Tai Ma inspired and guided him in unlocking his hidden potential of concentration enabling him to become a “Shatavdhani”.

It is a once in a lifetime event to watch Jay – the grace with which he demonstrates this power of concentration and memory is incredible. Modern Science believes a human being utilises only 2-3% of his mental potential. While most people can remember 8 or 10 events sequentially, ancient Jain literature is replete with references to Jain scholars and monks and nuns called “Shatavdhanis” demonstrating their ability to remember 100 things or more – a talent acquired by deep meditation or power of pure soul.

Jay has performed “Shatavdhan” in public many times. In his demonstration, he is expected to remember up to 200 questions, objects or statements which have been asked/shown by the audience one by one. The audience then asks him to repeat the questions in random numbers. Jay does not only state the question represented by that number but he will also give a meaningful answer and adds humour too! It is awesome to witness the immense concentration of Jay and the fact that nothing can distract him. It is important to remember that it is neither a miracle to be witnessed nor an exercise of memory power. It is the achievement of the soul by meditation.
